today was the day that my dad finally got a job. he picked me up from school today and got out of the car, which was strange because he had no real reason to get out. but he did and when i saw him he looked at me and said "so guess what!" and from that moment i knew it. he eminated a smile that is so rare on his face that his exclamation could only mean one thing. my eyes opened wide and i said "you got a job." not exactly expecting him to nod and say yes, but at the same time thats all i expected. i hugged him and immediately tears ran down my nose like nothing else could be any better than right then. i didn't care that we were right in front of the school or anything, i was just so happy and proud of him. it was exactly the job he wanted- springfield, illinois; controller and executive of the local paper there, about the same size as the courier post in cherry hill. he told me later that my reaction meant the world to him and when we met up with my mom and the mall he looked at both of us and simply said "our lives have just been turned upside down." after ten months of unemployment after having a job since he was eleven years old, he's just so ready for this new experience. swing hard, dad..in case you hit it.
